At Texas Mental Health Counseling and our Hillhaven Hollow equine therapy ranch, our mission is to assist individuals, couples, and families in enhancing their mental health and overall well-being. Our licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, under the supervision of Dr. Laurie Hightower LMFT-S, offers years of experience in providing therapy to clients in the greater San Antonio area. We provide virtual counseling services via telehealth, as well as equine-assisted therapy at our ranch, Hillhaven Hollow. This unique approach combines the healing power of horses with therapeutic techniques, aiding clients in overcoming challenges and achieving personal growth. We recognize that seeking therapy can be daunting, and we strive to cultivate a safe and supportive environment for exploring thoughts and feelings. Our range of services includes individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and equine-assisted therapy. We believe that every individual deserves a fulfilling life, and we are dedicated to helping you reach that goal.

We Accept Aetna Insurance Plans
We currently accept Aetna Insurance. For all other insurances, you may have out-of-network benefits, which means that insurance will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost. We have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. With Thrizer, you will only have to pay your co-insurance for our sessions, instead of paying my full fee and waiting for reimbursements. This can save you on average 70% upfront on our sessions. During our intake process, We can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your co-insurance would be.
