At Hillhaven Hollow, we offer a unique blend of equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP), equine-facilitated learning (EFL), and traditional counseling services—all grounded in Biblical truth, clinical expertise, and deep respect for the healing presence of horses.

Our sessions are conducted on the ground only—no riding is involved. Horses are treated as therapeutic partners, honored for their sensitivity, intuition, and ability to mirror human emotion in powerful, healing ways.

About Miranda

Miranda Velasquez, MA, LCDC, LMFT, CCTP, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She is certified in Equine-Facilitated Learning (2018) and Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy (2024) through The HERD Institute.

With a passion for ministry and holistic healing, Miranda has guided countless clients through emotional and spiritual restoration—using both traditional talk therapy and equine-assisted methods.

What We Offer

Equine-Facilitated Learning (EFL)

This coaching-based model helps individuals grow in confidence, communication, self-awareness, and leadership. EFL is ideal for those looking to improve personal or professional skills in a hands-on, spiritually centered setting. Miranda combines her experience as a life coach with equine work to create a powerful learning environment.

Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP)

EFP blends professional counseling with the healing presence of horses. Clients work through relational challenges, emotional wounds, and spiritual blockages while learning to set boundaries, build trust, and reconnect with their authentic self. This work is deeply impactful for individuals, couples, and families.

Chemical Dependency Counseling

Miranda offers compassionate addiction counseling in both talk therapy and equine-assisted formats.
